My wife really wanted to take my daughter into the city and show her Vivid – that’s the name given to Sydney’s Festival of Lights. I joined in after work, taking with me my Samsung Galaxy S5 with the app called “Camera FV-5”. Thought I might put the latter through its paces at night.
The evening was exactly as I expected – lots of crowds and jostling and stumbling intermixed with wonderful visuals and a showground atmosphere. I am now totally exhausted with sore feet, so will dump the photos here for your enjoyment and head off for bed. But just think, these were done with a phone camera without any fancy Photoshop doing-uppering apart from resizing them. :)
I must admit that the app “Camera FV-5” did a superb job and was easy to use. Many camera apps simply can’t do night-time colour. But this one did it wonderfully.
Also, see if you can identify the pictures of Sydney’s famous Opera House. :)

Great images, I’m just sorry that I couldn’t get down and play with my camera too. Perhaps next year.

Thanks :) I tell you what, the photographers are certainly venturing out in hordes at this Vivid. I should have taken a proper camera, but I was actually stoked with what my little phone was able to achieve with the proper app. :)

These photos are fantastic, Greg! I’m so glad you battled the crowds so we don’t have to. The Opera House birds are so inventive, such great use of the shadows!

Thankyou for looking at my pics :) The Camera FV-5 app was surprisingly good – better than many a proper camera I’ve used. I tell you what – so much of Vivid was spectacular. have you taken a stroll around?

I haven’t walked there yet but you’re making me consider it :)
