I return!

I return!

A big hello to all my friends.

Seven weeks since last we spoke. After composing and losing a post several times on the WordPress app for android, I gave up in disgust on trying to post while abroad. So over the next few months I must make up for it.

Where to start?

Well, they say that travelling broadens the mind. I must admit that my waistline is not the worse either! Far too many dinners and much too much celebrating. So I shall have many a tale for you there over coming weeks.

I also have something in the order of five or six thousand photos. So as I get my thoughts together so will I get those photos together and choose the ones worthy of sharing.

Speaking of which, the photo that I chose as the header pic for this post is one taken of what, for me, was one of my highlights. It shows me in the Mediterranean off the coast of Sorrento. You cannot see it, but to I am floating off a pebbly beach at the bottom of a huge cliff. Atop the cliff my hotel for the night. But behind me… ah yes, behind me… is Vesuvius. There were brush fires on the mountain that day and so Vesuvius smoked. The ambience was incredible.

My goals for posts for the rest of the year is to try to take my experiences and turn them into art – pictorial or written. I will consider things learned and how I can apply them. Hopefully it will be fun and worthwhile. Also, for a few of you with special interests that I know, I have brought back a few photos that may be of interest.

Finally, let me reiterate how much I have missed my friends out there in blog-land. You are a talented and interesting bunch. It will probably take me at least a week to catch up on your tales, your photos, your art… yep – your blogs. But please be patient with me.

Jet lag still paws at me, so I will leave it here today, but I look forward to catching up.

regards

Greg

    1. Thankyou :) So many tales and photos! I’m using Adobe Lightroom to try and make sense of the latter and remind me of the former :)

    1. Thanks Doris :) It’s both good and yet sad to be back. Good to be back among friends, to feel clean, to be in one’s own bed. It’s sad that the adventure is over, at least for the time being :) And the jetlag… o I really hate the jetlag! My thoughts are sluggish and my body heavy.

    1. Thanks Dale :) You may be pleased to know I made it into Wales for a day. Wanted longer, but was crowding too much into my time away. Visited Chepstow castle :)
