Focusing upon Star Trek: the Next Generation, the book titled “Outside In Makes It So” is a collection of both serious and funny articles upon each episode of the iconic series. My particular article is a Shakespearean deconstruction of the episode “Next Phase” in which Geordi and Ensign Ro become invisible to their crew mates. Without giving too much away, I seek to convince the reader that the episode is based upon themes also found in Hamlet.
Details of the book, due to be released on 28 September 2017, can be found at http://www.atbpublishing.com/product/outside-in-makes-it-so-174-new-perspectives-on-174-star-trek-tng-stories-by-174-writers/
I must admit to being very excited to have this published. Star Trek was a part of my childhood. Later, in the late 1980s when Nicole and I were in the early part of our relationship, ST:TNG was a common passion that drew us together. We would come home at night and watch it together, discuss the scenarios, criticise the local channel for showing episodes in the incorrect order, and so on. Nicole and I are still together, and now we watch ST:TNG on Foxtel.
Thanks for reading this very brief post. I just had to share my excitement with you. Otherwise, I am still focusing upon hunting for jobs.
