Often the same ones over and over in case I can learn something new. The Coronavirus has put a short halt to this as it only takes me about three seconds to travel from my bedroom to my new temporary office in the dining room. However, today I needed to make the trip into my real office in Sydney and decided to listen to a webcast where my online pal David Lee Summers had been interviewed on 9 March 2020. The webcast is Two Gay Geeks. I did not know of their webcast before David was on it but after this will certainly return to listen to more of them. I mean, take a look at the screen shot I took below of some recent episodes and tell me how I could not go back and listen!!!

Now I am sure that you have heard me mention David before. I’ve reviewed a few of his novels. He is a very interesting person, earning a living as an astronomer, being a writer of twelve novels (science fiction, steam punk, and horror) and numerous short stories, and also being an editor for Hadrosaur Productions (science fiction, fantasy, and horror).

David’s interview fills the first half of the webcast (so about 25 minutes give or take). In it David talks about how he got into writing, meeting Ray Bradbury as a 13 year old, about writing series, writing characters and rewriting his first novel. One thing I particularly enjoyed was David speaking about the allure of writing Western Steam Punk novels. It’s a good interview and worth the listen.

Anyway, I don’t intend to give too much away or there won’t be any point in you listening. To go to the website where you can hear the webcast just click here. Also, if you have any good webcasts or podcasts that you think I may enjoy (you should be able to figure out my tastes from my web site) then please leave them in a comment below so that I can check them out.

Thanks for reading

Greg

I must admit that I spend a lot of my travel time (home -> work -> home) listening to interviews, podcasts and panel discussions on the topic of writing and writers.
