Well, Adam Savage is in it, but the video is so much more. OK, in some ways it is a 20 minute commercial for the series. By this I mean that it has sound bites from various actors, directors, scientists and fans. It also jumps quickly between images and scenes. Very quickly. Well, we are living in a world with a short attention span. And it really is a hard sell of the series for anyone who watches it.

This said, I adored the books. I adored season one. I am totally sold.

So why should you watch this then, if you have never seen The Expanse and know that it is a hard sell piece? Because if you take away the over-the-top “this is brilliant science fiction” sales pitch, you still get an idea of what people like me see in it. The amazing sense of place. The wonderful cinematography. The grittiness. The science. The story.

So do yourselves a favour and take a squiz. If it’s not your cup of tea, then fine. But maybe it will be.
